Did Joseph Become a Prime Minister because of his Righteousness?

“How can I do this evil against my God?” Many preachers have continued to emphasise that it was the righteous act by avoiding to have an affair with Portipha’s wife that eventually led to Joseph becoming a Prime Minister in Egypt. No, it is the fear of the Lord in Him which upturned that temptation. It is different from where God was taking him - his pre-ordained destiny! So, it is not this ‘work’itself otherwise many of us are more disciplined and self-righteous than Joseph. David wasn’t righteous at all but in his weakest position, he had good relationship with God because he feared Him. David fulfilled his destiny in spite of his weaknesses.

If our ‘works’ or ‘self-righteousness were considered exclusively, none of us would have gotten to where we already are in life talkless of fulfilling the greater and better destinies ahead of us.
The writer’s submission is: let us develop good relationship with God. It will become easier for us to do righteous. However, the fulfilment of our earthly and heavenly destinies have been pre-destined (remember Joseph's dream) and will be only achieved by the HIS GRACE obtainable through His unfailing love and mercies. Good morning.

Having Difficulties Arriving At a Decision?

Life is full of choices. Our parents took a decision before we were born. They took a decision whether to send us to or not. We took the decision whether to obey them by excelling or failing out of the school. We take a decision whether to work or not or even become a criminal or not; we take a decision on the career to take to. We decide whether we should marry or not ourselves; whether or not to bring forth children; invest our or waste them; care for our parents or not. Serve God or not. The writer of this post decided to post it!

All these have repercussions on us, good or bad.

Are you having difficulty reaching a decision on any issue, apply Ben Carson's B/W Analysis approach. It is called BEST, WORSE or WORST BEST ANALYSIS.

For instance to marry or not ask yourself,

What is the best thing that will happen to me if I got married?
Ans: I will become responsible; I will have a companion; it is the will of God; I will be able to produce children named after me; I will be able saved from sexual temptations. At old age, I will my children will cater for me.

What is the worst thing that can happen to me?

I will take on more responsibilities directly or indirectly (higher feeding, dealing with extended family challenges, faced with challenges of parenting. If my wife is incompatible with me, then I am in trouble for the rest of my life. If I divorce her, my life will never remain the same; I must provide for my family compulsorily; Even if we are compatible, we may face some unpleasant challenges such that we have to tolerate ourselves if not our relationship will pack up; and so on. If I marry inter-tribally, my wife might not settle in my village at my old age.

If I don't marry at all what is the best thing to happen to me:

Ans. I have ONLY to myself, maybe my parents, siblings and extended families and community, If I so desire, to cater for So no less stress for me.

If I don't marry at all what is the worst thing that can happen to me
Loneliness at old age. Appear irresponsible in my active days and my life may be miserable because I have no companion. I will likely frolic around women to satisfy my sexual urges, through that produce children that will become problems to my society.

Then take a decision. Whatever decision you arrive at, those things you forsee will be waiting for you as you journey through life. As they arise, you prepare for their solutions. Don't ever take any decision without considering the B/W Analysis. That's what Ben Cars, a reknowned international Neurosurgeon uses even to take decisions on whether or not to cary out brain surgery on all his patients. He adds prayers. And they have resulted in his success! Good morning.

There's No Blissful Marriage!

Spinsters & Bachelors, I know you are anxious to get married!  You've spotted that 'angelic' spirit-filled man or woman of God.  Day and night you dream of him or her!  Indeed nothing is sweeter than him or her in your life anymore!  Your marriage will be 'blissful'!

Good thinking!  Let me first advise you that MARRIAGE itself is only but a NECESSARY RISK.  Whether there's a blissful marriage or not, ask those who are already in it. Read the newspapers, surf  the (visit http://www.onlinedivorce.com/ ) for statistics, go to the law courts for details of past/ongoing divorce cases.  Above all, ask our wise King Solomon what led him to 700/300 wife/concubineship!

Why is there no blissful marriage? It is so because every marriage is like a voyage in the ocean, some portions of the oceans are peaceful, some turbulent.  Every marriage must pass through its own wilderness where there are mannas, serpents, valleys, mountains, swamp, desserts and thick forests etc. Sometimes, water must come out of the rocks to continue in relationship!  Only those who are prepared for these challenges will succeed in it!  Want yours to succeed?  Order your copy of my books: "Now That You Are Married, Make It Work"  and for singles: "This Think Called Marriage"
Good morning.

Be Persistent in Your Struggles

1. “Eli, Eli,* lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”*  Jesus Christ!  Matt.  27:45; 2. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.” Esther 4:16. "But again Elisha replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you.” II Kingas 2:6. All these people, with persistence, achieved their goals.

Victory is not always attained when we still have some energies left in us otherwise we'll trust in our strength. It is attained at the very point where our ALL energies are SAPPED and we bother less about whatever happens to our lives It is painful but such is life. So be persistent in your struggles until you attain your POSITIVE goals. Where your power ends, God powers will take over. Then you will value His awesomeness. Good morning.

Want's to Go Just Like That? No, Please Don't!

Dear Subscriber,

Let's reason together! God gave us the manuals of our lives to read - The Bible.  It is guiding our lives today. Some other faiths have theirs too.

Other great authors like William Shakespeare left their own footprints in the sands of time through writing books; some more people e.g. Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Ben Carson, Bill Clinton, are leaving their own now for generations yet unborn to learn from. The writer of this blog has written 8 books (the first of which is his autobiography) and is still writing, and intends to write many more - just to better the society.

America made the advancement it made through preservation of ideas for generations to come. India and China are doing so today. Indeed, do you know that they have surpassed America?

What are you going to leave behind for the generations to come? Start with the documentation of your own history then write something about what you know about your chosen profession for others to read. Don't be selfish, don't come to this world quietly and go just like that! Leave something. Advance knowledge in whatever you know best to do. Document them! Good morning. For my other blogsites on marriage, wealth creation, etc,  (please click here) and remember to share them with your loved ones too!

That We'll All Die of Something

According to Ben Carson in his book "Take The Risk", p. 61 the odds that we will die of something  at some point in our lives is in a ratio of 1:1. This is because the risks are just too many around us.  Let's consider the ratios of our dying of the following risks:

Cancer: 1 in 500
Drowning: 1 in 50,000
Riding your bicycle: 1 in 130,000
N ieplNW XEah ` in 1:250,000
In your bathtub: 1 in 1,000,000
Falling out of bed: 1 in 2,000,000
Freezing to death 1 in  3,000,000
Struck by lightning (if you are a man) 1 in 2,000,000
(if you are  a woman) 1 in 10,000,000
Rabies (in the US): 1 in 100,000,000
A foreign object inadvertently left in your body during surgery 1 in 80,000,000, (far lower in Nigeria!)
A falling meteror roughly 1 in 5,000,000
Schacharin sweetner is dangerous but the same volume of sugar for sweetening is more dangerous!
Aspirin causes stomach ulcers, yet we are advised to take aspirin to avoid stroke
The process of giving birth to a child by a woman is one of the riskiest of of all risks because the woman dies, then the baby comes out of her, then she comes to life again Yet women will always opt for pregnancy!  (my own addition)

So whichever way we tilt, there's danger, it is simply a matter of being knowledgeable enough to consider their level of severity and whether we can tolerate them or not.  So, again, whether we like it or not we all take risks!  Good moni.

Unfailing LOVE of GOD for Nigeria

I did say God loves Nigeria UNCONDITIONALLY AND UNFAILINGLY. Let me prove it:
1.  We got our independence on the platter of Gold.
2.  We went through civil war and came back as one
3.  Remember June 12?  We came out of the quagmire unwounded.
4.  Niger Delta problem, you think it's ordinary that both the genuinely aggrieved people
(And some disgruntled elements too) are surrendering their weapons?
5.  God gave us so enormous resources that we've tapped only one  of them (oil) and the rest are there waiting for us to harness,
6.  The more of our resources that are stolen, the wealthier as a nation we become!
These and many more must be amazing to discerning hearts.
Now ASUU is calling off its strike!
They're not ordinary, they are God's unfailing love for this country called NIGERIA.
Then you ask me: why are we still suffering?  I asssure you it will soon be over.
That same unfailing love of God will soon deliver us and without any bloodshed whatsoever.
How?  I don't know but I believe that He who has helped us this far will is capable of oppressing our oppressors and will do so soonest!  Our size or ethnic composition have never been our problems.  Our problem has been bad leadership so Nigeria will never break up because there's just no need for it. Instead God will break up our opperessors!  Good morning.

What Is Nigeria Celebrating?

If are appraising Nigeria by looking at power failure, bad roads, kidnappings, robbery attacks, and all forms of corruptions, we would be sorrowful. But instead, let's appreciate God and  look beyond those vices and trust and that with time, prayers and practical efforts, they will all fade away.

So, what we are celebrating are:

1.   The Unfailing LOVE of GOD that has held us together
2.   Unity in diversity - that we see beyond our problems
3.   The hope of a better tomorrow - that with God on our side, our oppressors will one day, which is very near, our oppressors shall be oppressed themselves. Happy celebrations!

PLANT NOW!

We are all responding to meltdown in different ways.  I know everybody is scared of the stock market now. Those who had their monies trapped in Wonder Banks investments will not want to remember that for now.  Bank savings or loans are not encouraging either.  So there's confusion everywhere.  Inside this confusion, I see great hope.  If you still have some money you want to invest, though it may sound foolish, but I bet you this is the best time to invest in the stock market!
Secondly this is the best time for you to think hard on creating multiple-streams of incomes.  When lack of power supply is driving bigger conglomerates out of Nigeria?  Yes, NEPA is a major factor but its absence cannot successfully block our resoning faculties such that we can think alternative!

Farming is one of the best alternatives to paid employment today, especially backyard one.
Why not give it a trial?  Late September to November ending is the best planting season in the Southern parts of Nigeria.  Therefore find out what you intend to plant and plant now for you to be able to harvest something good in 2010.  Happy Independence! Good morning.

RETIRE BEFORE 60!

Many people get carried away by the statutory MANDATORY retirement age of 70 for Lawyers and 60 for others.  Don't be caught in this trap.  Don't be MANDATED by the law before you mandate yourself to quit.  Whatever achievements you've not recorded in your career life between 45 and 55 years of age, it will take the grace of God for you to attain it even if you retire at 100!
In the nature's age calculation formlula, because of the tensend Nigerian environment under which you operated, at 45 you are almost 60 years of age.  Now consider if you want to work till 60 which means you are about 75 years old! No wonder people die  or become completely useless to themselves before or shortly after attaining their MANDATORY retirement.   It is better to retire when you can still be useful to yourself.  Consider this golden adviceGive room for younger generations! Good morning.

AFRAID OF TAKING RISKS?

Mothers risk their lives to give birth to children to gain something.
Fathers risk their wealth sending children to school, to gain something
Children risk their lives getting married, choosing careers, investing their incomes  wherever they deem fit. in order to gain something.
We plan towards retirement to gain something.
The truth is that NOT everybody gains such expectations at the end of the da!
Then why all the risks?
The answer is simple:  Whether you take  them or not, you are still taking a risk afterall, i.e.doing nothing and expecting something!
It is better to take the risk, expect something and the thing didn't happen, than not to take risks at all.
Ironically, risk takers who realise their goals are far higher than those who did not.
So risk everything good in expectation of something!  Good morning.

NB What challenges are you facing now?  Research into them by reading books on such topics. Start with the Bible and you will find an answer !

Our Children are asking us Questions!

In addressing the issue of the face-off between the Academic Staff Union of Nigeria and the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I did say that our the latter should reconsider its position and open the Universities.  I did say that our future leaders whose future is being frustrated today will ask us questions one day.  The have now done so even at the UN.  Please Click here http://media.causes.com/510213. PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO WITH ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR FAMILY.  PLEASE SHARE IT WITH ALL LOVED ONES.

Nigeria, I am sure is represented at this forum and will hear the cry of these children 12-13 years old who have travelled 5000 miles all the way to the UN conference to ask our leaders questions.  Parents, please note that your children will ask you questions of what becomes of them tomorrow.  Be prepared for an answer.  It will either bring JOY or SADNESS.  It is left for you to choose.  Good morning.

The Death of Nigeria: A Coroner's inquest

"There's no country that can survive for long if it continues to produce a succession of mediocrities in the highest echelons of power. ... the challenge of resurrecting Nigeria rests with Nigerians.  Nevertheless, the level of political conscousness of of the average Nigerian is close to zero.  Morepoint, they are armchair critic of government who hactually beleives that what the country needs most are prayers so that there would be a supernatural intervention to clear up all the anomalies that asphyxlated the country.  - Douglas Anele  Sunday Punch P. 13

Douglas's (and indeed majority of Nigerians') frustrations about the state of affairs in Nigeria are understandable. However,  to change the situation, we cannot rule out God, neither can we depend upon our physical battles alone. People are talking and with people of good conscience joining politics, things will change, sooner than later, and we shall have good the Nigeria we all desire.  It will surelyhappenen during my time!  Good morning.

The Summary of Life

Four deaths, nay five, made me conclude that this life comes to nothing: the passing away of Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Late Nnamdi Azikiwe, Late Gani Fawehinmi then my own father and mother.   All of them, great fighters in their own rights, finally they all succumbed to the inevitable, death.  So, like them, everyone of us will succum one day and someone else, like me, will write about us?
Since it is sure that this will happen to us, then let's all consider and  heed Kings Solomon's wise counsel:  "Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad." Eccl. 12:13-14   Return to my other blogs Gudmoni.

The Internet and the World's Transformation

Truly, with the advent of the Internet, the world has not only become one village, but a very tiny one for that matter!  No doubt Bill Gates opened the gates of opportunities for others (like Yahoo, Google, Facebook,Twiter,  and other numerous ingenious infopreneural enterprises) which, with their numerous useful applications are transforming the world for the better to enter the race.   No doubt in the struggle between good and evil, the former is winning!

With the advent of the Google Blogger applications, readily made available to people free of charge, the world is now a better place to live. With the innovations of Adsence, Adwords, etc which allow people to 'give and take' not only life-transforming information, but also economic empowerment, a time is coming, and indeed it is here, that those who will not make it in life will be only those who are ignorant or lazy or better still, insenstive to what is going on around them.  They may be in the majority as they are for now or the may be in the manority as is expected.  I don't know which part of the divide you are!

My admonition to the world, ESPECIALLY THE YOUTHS world over,  is for everybody to key into this emerging good world order - the internet world.  As an Infopreneur, keying into it myself has no doubt added meaning to my life by  not only removing boredom, but making me experience fulfilment as I can now relate to the world at large!

Thank God for Bill Gates,  Google, Yahoo, and such like bodies for making life worth living! Good morning.

The Willing Spirit and The Weak Body

The age-old struggle between the willing spirit and the weak body still continues today and will do so till etenity.  We all desire good success in our spirits but our bodies will not want to accept the pains required to attain it.  Yet without the pains, there can be no pleasure!

Learning from Jesus Christ ('For the spirit is willing but the body is weak!' Mat.26:42)who though struggled like you and I are doing, finally yielded to the spirit and overcame. Let us be prepared to pay necessary prizes to attain our set worthwhile spiritual and secular goals. Good morning.
