When God is Ready, He is Unstoppable
“Therefore, say to the
Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will free you from your slavery in Egypt. I
will redeem you with mighty power and great acts of judgment. I will make you
my own special people, and I will be your God. And you will know that I am the
Lord your God who has rescued you from your slavery in Egypt. I will
bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It will
be your very own property. I am the Lord!” So Moses told the people what
the Lord had said, but they wouldn’t listen anymore. They had become too
discouraged by the increasing burden of their slavery. Exod. 6:6-9
When God is ready to do
something, He is unstoppable. In our pursuits of success in whatever endeavours
we choose, we often meet with brick walls.
These often lead us to discouragement and most often, as Christians, we
tend to unbelief. God was the one who
promised Abraham a child but was not ready to give him that child when it was
logical to do so. So Abraham tarried
till his patience was exhausted and he and his wife were sure it would not happen. Abraham’s was old and his libido had
expired. He made sure that Sarah had
reached menopause so logically, there was no hope for her. But when God was ready for the couple He
personally visited them (Gen. 18:1-14), in
spite of their unbelief and logical conviction that they would never have a
biological child of their own.
One of the greatest miracles
of my life as far as becoming a University Graduate is concerned is that,
logically speaking, I never would have accomplished that goal. All those who
would have sponsored me were there, attempted to do so, but God never permitted
them to do so. When His appointed time
came, he led me by Himself, he made me to sponsor myself from Primary six till
I graduated at the age of 46 years and one year later, I was called to the
Nigerian Bar! Along the line whenever I
lacked support, because His appointed time was come, he appointed external
helpers to support me. (I was consistently angry with all the helpers I had
hoped would help me) until, when after graduation I asked God why did You not
allow these people to help me? His reply was “I did so because I did not wantto share my glory with anybody!”. Some events happened later that I took a
decision about my life that went contrary to the expectation of those I
expected to help me. Then God reminded
me of what He had said. So if He had
permitted those people, they would have not claim the glory for sponsoring me
but would have considered me an ingrate! I pray for the reader of this
devotional that at His appointed time, God will visit your situation in Jesus
name.
When God is ready, it does
not matter whether one has been discouraged or no longer believes in Him. Indeed God does not open the way until “all
other roads are closed”. Then will just arise
and proceed and do what He wants to do in His own miraculous way. He will also remove all obstacles. Are you discouraged or have lost faith? Your discouragement or unbelief will not stop
or prevent God from answering your prayers when His appointed time has come in
Jesus’ name. All your frustrations shall turn to miraculous breakthroughs that
will be too big to hide in Jesus name.
When God is ready, He guides
our behaviour. Abraham could have seen
but not attended to Trinity. But God
guided him and he did because his appointed time to be blessed had come. Sarah (laughed in unbelief), yet she
cooperated with Abraham to cook and entertain Trinity. So the duo PROVOKED
God’s miracle for their lives. When your
appointed time has come, you will not make any mistake. Instead, your response shall provoke your
miracles in Jesus’ name.
God’s appointed time for you
to be attended to concerning that sorrowful aspect of your life which gives you
concern is nearer than you ever think it can be, It is true you are discouraged
and don’t even believe God can do it again, but I assure you that you will neither die nor
make a mistake when He comes. You will
surely laugh last because your delayed Isaac will come. Your deferred graduation, marriage, career
opportunities will come in Jesus name. God bless you in Jesus’ name.

DONALD TRUM v. JUSTICE
The word “corrupt” has been defined Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, 8th edition to mean, 1. “(of people) willing to use their power to do dishonest or illegal things in return for money or to get an advantage 2. ( of behaviour ) dishonest or immoral.”.
A critical appraisal of these two definitions shows that corruption whether in formal or informal settings people engaging in dishonest or illegal in return for money or to get an advantage. To be corrupt means to be immoral. The foundation of morality is ‘rightness’ or ‘wrongness’.
Morality is not necessarily legal because what is legal may be moral anyway. After all, gay marriage is legal in Americas but it does not agree with the tennets of morality.
In law, plea bargaining is legal in America but it is not moral. It is simply encouraging the thief to steal more and give back what he feels like giving after much (unnecessary) persuasion. Statute-baring a creditor from collecting money owed him is legal but it does not appeal to good conscience which equity represents and it is at variance with morality. Let whoever owes pay unless the creditor forgives the loan! No wonder, when the technicalities of the law started breeding injustice, equity was born to appeal to people’s sense of morality in justice reflecting fairness, recognising what is good or bad.
As student of Law at the University, I became angry with the Law when I saw the human-invented ‘technicalities’ of the law which tended to provoke injustice instead of justice but when I was introduced to equity, I was at appeased. That’s why to me, justice that does not appeal to the good conscience (equity) or has no toga of moral content is not a true justice.
Colonisation in whatever form is, to me criminal. It is immoral. It is injustice. Two wrongs, they say, cannot make a right. This points me to the review of the utterances (and intentions) of American’s Presidential hopefuls – Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Donal Trump is (rightly) angry with corruption but his planned strategy to fight it by singling out Africans, particularly Nigerians for “Re-colonisation”. A concept which in itself is obsolete, absurd, illegal and immoral such that a mere thought of it might portray him as corrupt.
There’s nothing wrong with being angry with ‘wrong doing’ like corruption. But the means by which it is addressed must never be worse than what is being addressed. It will amount to two wrongs that will never produce a ‘right’. No matter how you add them up, immorality or illegality with immorality or illegality cannot amount to morality or legality. No rational human being should ever give a flash of thought to re-colonisation no matter how angry he may be. Re-colonisation is like drawing back the hands of the clock. A negative thought of this nature should not be coming from America, an enlightened American of Donald’s stature.
The America that I know is a country known for justice. It is therefore not from America we should have somebody preaching injustice. America has been regarded as a home to everybody and when I visited there a few times, I confirmed the warmness of Americans.
America is a united world that should have no room for discrimination. If the entire world collapses and America is spared, the world would re-emerge perfectly through her. Men have dominated the Presidency of America. It is morality, equity and justice that influenced the Democrats to want to correct the balance the male-female dichotomy by featuring Hillary Clinton so we can for once have a Woman President. It is an attempt to nail corruption in the bud that made the Democrats to produce Obama (a mixed-blood) as President of America thereby making the black and white to melt together as one which in itself is legal and moral. This same process will one day surely produce full-blooded black men or women as the President of America if only people like Donald will do a rethink. If he or people of like-mind as Donald should rule America, America will surely lose her glory!
Hillary Clinton is known to be even headed, humble, with no iota of discrimination. People like Hillary will not only move America forward but will bring about a new world order that will promote America as a complete world where there is no discrimination. My prayer is that God Almighty will guide America and Americans such that they will not make the mistake that will end up reversing all the advancements America has achieved. If All Africans are evicted from America, some who have forgotten their origins may suffer some setbacks but in the final analysis, they will settle down. The wise majority will have no problems returning home at all because sweet as America may be, they never forgot their origins. I am a Nigerian but I love America as I love Nigeria. Let all Americans (black, white, etc) unite to ensure America remains a home for all by voting for the right candidate. If Donald Trum must lead America, he must reconsider his thoughts on the black race and change his strategy by embracing every human being. As far as am concerned, America has gone beyond his present thinking and postulations. Long live America, Long live Americans, long live Nigerians, long live the black and all races all over the world. Black or white, we are all from Adam and Eve and should remain together till eternity!

Temptation, the Mother of All Sins (2)
Temptations , the Mother of All Sins (2)
“Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. God observed all this corruption in the world, for EVERYONE ON EARTH (emphasis mine) was corrupt. “ Gen. 6:12.
As far as corruption is concerned, everyone is involved in it. Rom. 3:23 confirms this when it says “For ALL have sinned and have come short of the glory of God”. It is the nature and magnitude of corruption that differs. A man who cheats on his wife, a man or woman who falsifies records in his office, a business what side-tracks tax laws, a generator seller who will not want to see uninterrupted power supply successfully implemented, a child who lies, a lazy student who relies of “expo” to succeed in his examinations, a lecturer or a boss who demands sex for success in examination or promotion to higher levels, a pastor who steals church money or says “the Lord sayeth” when the Lord has actually not spoken, the latest of it all, the Dansuki Gate, Padding the budget, or a young man or girl who takes to political thuggery as a way to survive and so on, are all corrupt.
When a man is corrupt, 2 Pet 1:4 makes it clear that it is the desire of his heart that causes it “… the word’s corruption caused by human desires”. Every corruption is preceded by temptation to manipulate a situation to suit us whether it is God’s will for us or not. When our desires comes, it takes over everything. We don’t want to know what God says or wants us to do. I once approached a man on a Sunday morning to minister to him. He welcomed me well. After our exchange, he held his cup of beer and said “Pastor, pray for me. The only problem I have is my desire for alcohol. I just found it rather difficult to drop this cup. I know I am a prophet by nature but this object (alcohol) is my problem.” I did tell him, why not join drop this cup now and let’s go to church? He said, it is difficult to do. I said drop it now, go to church and pray. There’s no point praying for you in this beer parlour because you won’t be able to drop the cup. He would follow me. Amazingly, the while I was returning from the church on a New Year’s eve, I came across him and he gave me a prophesy with a specific date of its happening – 15th of February. And on that day the prophesy came to pass!
Even though we are all prophets, the negative desires of our hearts made it impossible for us all to “drop our cups” so we fall most times. I, preaching to you am not exempted from this vile just as Paul confessed “what I don’t like to do, I do” and Jesus said (in his fleshy state) “if it were possible, remove this cup from me”. He rejected death which is God’s will for him. It was God who helped him accomplish his goal of salvation for us all. The desire to live made Abraham lie to the King.
The antidote to temptation remains that we should live and walk with God and be in spirit always. It is the spirit of the Lord that will create the fear of the Lord (Prov. 1:7) in our hearts like Joseph who said “why must I commit this sin against my God?”. I know it is tough to face temptations and resist it when our hearts desires want it. But with God (Luke 1:37) all things are possible. Stay with God today and overcome temptations! God bless you in Jesus name. Prayer Point: Father, grant me the grace to walk with you from today in Jesus name.

Temptation, the Mother of All Sins
According to the Oxford
Advanced Learner’s Dictionary, to “tempt”, means, “to attract somebody or make somebody want to do or have something, even
if they know it is wrong.”
Temptations started from the heavens! “Morning Star” (now Satan) was
tempted to overthrow God Almighty because he wanted to promote himself above
his leader – the Almighty God. He
fell. He was thrown into planet
earth. Adam and Eve were tempted
(Gen.3:1-6) to eat the forbidden fruit.
And they fell. Moses was tempted
by the stiff-necked people to be angry to the point that Satan could dare
struggle to have his soul for possession. Jesus Christ our Lord was tempted by
Satan to bow down for him so he could be king over all the earth. He overcame Satan.
We all know that alcohol, sexual immorality, corruption of any kind is
bad but the spirit of temptations blurs our understanding because of the
pleasure we want to derive from our misdeed.
For one to be tempted, there is an expectation behind it. The goal of Satan was to overthrow the
Almighty God. The goal of Adam and Eve
was to be wiser than God had permitted them.
The goal of Satan was to prevent Jesus from accomplishing his
predestined goal of salvation for mankind.
One thing is sure, there’s no sin that is not preceded by ‘temptation’;
therefore temptation is gives birth to all sins. And nobody is exempted from being
tempted. However, our response to every
temptation is what determines its outcome we obtain. When faced with temptations, two options are
constantly open to us: to reject the urge or obey it, each having its own
consequences.
No wonder the Bible commands us to ‘flee from all appearances of
sin”. To flee from it is the best option
but there are invisible forces that makes it a serious burden to flee instead
most often, we fall. The constant
consequence of falling into sins is regret and sorrow. We know that what we are about to do is wrong
albeit we are lured into doing it then facing the negative consequences.
Yes, James 4:7 admonishes us to resist the devil for him to flee from
us, but the truth is that no man can resist the devil by his own power but by
the Spirit of the Lord. That’s why to
avoid temptation we must be constantly operating in the spirit so that we can
identify sins and nip them in the bud as they arise. Move closer to God today and overcome the
tempter and his temptations! I pray for you that God will make it easy for you
to be closer and closer to Him so you can overcome all temptations in Jesus’
name.

Righteousness, the Path to HOLINESS
Righteousness, the Path to holiness.
God is clear on His expectations from us on all subjects. On Holiness and Righteousness, He did not mince words. In 1 Thess. 4:7 Bible tells us clearly that “God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. Heb.2:4 says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord while Matt. 5:48 admonishes us, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
The general belief is that it is not possible to be perfect. But the truth is that, though tough as it may be in the world of temptations we live in, perfectness is achievable. It simply means we need to know the right from the wrong. That is why righteousness is the way to holiness and we ought to “yield our members servants to righteousness unto holiness”. Perfection is God’s standard we must all set as goals to achieve. It is a gradual thing. So if you are not yet there, be conscious of wanting to be and therefore use God’s word as your guide to attaining righteousness. Do the right thing at home, in your offices, in your family, in the church of God. Holiness is total obedience to God’s set standards. For instance, to be on the righteous way to holiness, start with your family. Husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the church. Treat them as God what God wants you to treat them. Train your child the way of the Lord (Prov. 22.6), give them both formal and informal education. Wives, submit to your husbands. Don’t wrestle authority with them. Children obey your parents so that you won’t make mistakes that will cut your days short. Care for them all the time till they go to their final resting place. Pay your tithes, offerings, and support your church projects and your Pastors as well. In your office, do not falsify records. Don’t be lazy at work. Pray for your organisation as you pray for yourself. As business person, never cheat your employees. Some sins are committed against ourselves: sexual immorality, anger, drinking alcohol, telling lies, etc. Read your Bible always to know God’s mind concerning holiness and righteousness and do whatever He tells you for “blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scournful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree lanted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whtsoever he doeth shall prosper”.
Always be conscious of this: the best route to holiness is righteousness. Do right and you are on your way to holiness. May God Almighty make the impossible possible for you in Jesus name.

Do Good to God and to Man
I love this piece from page 56 of Richard Templar’s book “The Rules of Life”: Every action you take, every decision you make, everything you do causes an immediate effect on those around you – and on you. And this is the important bit. There’s such a thing as instant karma. It is your bed and you are going to have to lie on it. Your actions will dictaste whether in general your life is going to run happily or badly, smoothly or as if the wheels have fallen off. If you are selfish and manipulative, it will rebound on you . If you are generally loving and thoughtful, you will get your just rewards – and not in heaven (0r the next life or whatever you believe) but right here, right now. Trust me. Whatever you do and how you do it will come back to you in spades. This isn’t a threat, merely an observation. Those wo do good, get good. Those who do bad get bad.”
From my personal experiences in life, I have come to agree with Temple's postulation that what you sow is surely what you will reap. Work hard, you will stand before kings and not before mean men. Be lazy you will tend to poverty. Be kind to people, people will be kind to you. People will always not only remember what you do to them, they will pay you back in your coins. It is a reality of life. I have tasted it. It works. I gave love to people in diverse ways: cash and kind, counsel and inspiration plus motivation, they returned love to me in greater measure. Remarkably, once upon a time, for eight consecutive years, the ship of my life drifted in the mid-ocean heading towards a wreck! Miraculously, God raised people to rescue me. These people remembered my good deeds and felt the ship of my life must never sink. They willingly (without even solicitation) allowed themselves to be used by God (thanks to members of my helpers forum in WhatsApp l) to rescue me. However, whenever I related my experiences to people on how I have been blessed by people, such people always reminded me thus, “you deserve what you are getting because you’ve done so much for people” Whereas I honestly thought and believed I hadn’t done enough! I thank God, in my little way, I did what I knew best to do – good - (And I have resolved that for the rest of my life I shall engage my total being in doing good for my generation and the generations yet unborn. I am going to leave a legacy of doing good for my descendants from generation to generation.) I thank God and people for returning my good-for-good. Brethren, let me admonish you with this golden piece from Phil. 4:8-9, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do…” There’s a great reward for doing good or bad. I urge you DO GOOD to God and to Man.

Why You Must earn MORE Money.
There is no doubt that majority of the world's population are poor. The most fundamental principle that underlies poverty is the fact that when our needs, I mean, our must-dos (not our desires, not wishes which are resource wasters and which can be curtailed through prudent spending) are more than our income, then the direct result is POVERTY.
Let us cite an example: In Nigeria, a man with a wife and two children must spend at least N60,000 per term (or N180,000 a year) on school fees, must spend average of N300 to feed each family member on daily basis i.e. N439,200 a year and attend to several other needs of life too numerous to list let us say this will be in the region of another N600,000 per annum. Assuming the man's total net spendable income is N700,000 per annum, such a man must borrow N519,200 to maintain his family. This amount is the level of his poverty. If he repeats this over many many years then nobody in his family will enjoy peace. He will hand over his poverty LEGACY to his children frome generation to generation. This is the major cause of poverty.
Until a man earns enough profit (this is attainable) from business or enough spendable income from paid employment (which may not be) he will never get out of poverty. Therefore let everyone budget what he needs to spend and invest everything he has towards making the very amount. This will take a great sacrifice. And that sacrifice is the price to pay to get out of poverty! God bless you.

Be Fruiful
After God created Adam and Eve, He pronounced three blessings upon them the first is "BE FRUITFUL". Gen. 1:26. We shall examine. the remaining 2 in subsequent writings.
Fruitfulness is all about being productive. This covers all facets of our lives. Biologically we are all biological fruits of our parents. We too ought to reproduce off springs. A fruitful career will produce promotions and produce finances that will produce spiritual and material wealth that will in turn produce salvation, excellent and physical health that will produce longevity and fulfilment.
To be fruitful we all must take decisions. The first of such is to recognise our Daddy Who pronounced the blessings upon us. The next is to shape our lives in the direction of fruitfulness by focusing our attention on substances that will produce fruitfulness such as the pursuit of knowledge and imbibe the spirit of hard work. It's therefore for us all to be focused.

God Speaks
According to Deut. 29:29, secret things belongs to God; the ones revealed to us belongs to us and the generations after us.
When the heat of the Ekiti State's election was very high for everybody to feel and the only logical thing sensed by all was possible danger. God spoke to me in a dream that Ekiti State's Election will be very peaceful. There would be no bloodshed whatsoever. When I was troubled that Iyin Ekiti might be a centre stage for violence, God said in the same dream that 2014 will be the best year she had ever witnessed and that IYIN DAY 2014 will be the best ever as there will be declaration of surplosity. How these would happen in the midst of glaring tension was a wonder i had to contend with. BUT I TRUSTED in Him. I shared my vision with key people who must know about it and my mind was at peace.Whenever there were tensions i affirmed the peace that God had spoken to me.
The election has come and gone. God fulfilled His word on peace and no bloodshed. Not only that Ekiti has now become a reference point for everything good democratically. socially and morally. Ekiti has advanced Nigeria. This God deserves our praises.

I Have A Message For You (1)
My experience as a Pastor reveals that most church goers do not grasp the essence of the enormous KEYS to an all-round success being released by pastors through sermons. They only seem to enjoy the anointing services, the proclamations of blessings, the vigils, the laying of hands, the use of objects such as white handkerchiefs, annointing oil, touching the garments of Pastors, etc attendance at anointing services, and so on but fail to accept the fact that God does not perform magic but miracles rooted in prayers, hard work and faith.
My admonition for such people is to understand that if they must succeed, they should embrace prayers, and the 10 Babylon theories (read "THE RICHEST MAM IN BABYLON") of which are: identify and take advantage of all available opportunities, become an entrepreneur, consistently invest the little they have to generate more money, have as many streams of incomes, own a home early in life, plan for their retirement. Prayers without practising these will amount to failure. Please be wise by being "fervent in prayers, not slothful in business". From engraving on stones to pen and paper. From pen and paper to manual typewriting. From manual typewriter to electronic ones. From electric typewriter to word processing to desktop computer then to laptop then to palmtops to tablets and smartphones. So has the art of writing evolved and developed
A friend of mine joined the race as a typist but failed to graduate to computer. He ended up becoming the Chairman of Okada Association full of regrets for not updating himself in the computer world!
If you fail to update yourself in whatever you do, you will soon be left behind. If you fail to continue to update your investment portfolios, you will soon retire to poverty! If you fail to update yourself spiritually, you will soon become a fake Prophet if only to satisfy your belly. If you tarry too long as a bachelor, you will soon die unmarried and childless. If you fail to continue to update your knowledge, the 'graduate' in you will soon give way to illiteracy.
In, all your ways, I urge you dear reader, ALWAYS update yourself always otherwise you will so soon expire.

God's Business Interest
People hold different views about spending money in the church especially on payment of tithes. It all started when Abraham paid his tithe to Melchizedek, King of Salem (Gen. 14:20) legalized in Mal. 3:8-10. And Jesus affirmed it in Luk 11.41ff.
God is businesslike with tithes. If for any reason you are unable to pay it as and when due, God demands for a 20% interest when eventually you are paying it. That is God for you - businesslike and prudent.
Therefore be an entrepreneur. Invest part of your income to generate more money. Have many streams of incomes. God bless you.

PRAYER IS IMPORTANT
Prayer is communicating with God - worshipping Him, thanking Him, purging our iniquities to Him to forgive us and making our needs known to Him by way of requests. These communications touch God's loving heart and He acts on them.
Therefore I urge you, pray everyday of your life and all about you will go well.

Pride Precedes Destruction
The story of the proud rich man in the bible is instructive. One day he woke up, summed up his blessings and gave glory to himself. That night, God took his life from him! Whatever we are, let's not arrogate glory to ourselves but always to God.
May God give us the grace to do this in Jesus' name.

Poverty in the Midst of Plenty?
As far as material, financial and spiritual prosperities are concerned, the greatest challenge everyone has is how to multiply the little in our hands. God's interest in our multiplying what we have is contained in his blessings for man in Gen. 1:28 which says:“Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. Be masters over the fish and birds and all the animals.''. So whether we are salary earners, farmers, or whether we are ordinary lay Christians, all we need do is to 'multiply' whatever status we are. He is God of abundance and He wants us to copy this golden attribute of His.
A seed 'invested' through planting will bring forth abundant harvest. My wife and I once counted the grains on a pod of maize we harvested from our farm and discovered that a single seed has produced 437 other seeds simply by sowing it.
A spiritually life well-nurtured will produce spiritual maturity as well as close relationship with God.
Likewise, a seed of vegetable will produce several thousands of other seeds if allowed to grow to maturity and produce seeds. That is what God means when He says, 'multiply and be fruitful'.
A salary earner who earns very low income but invests a little part of it on profitable ventures will soon become a millionaire but he who earns fat salary and eats it all will tend to poverty.
It is therefore important that we all cultivate the spirit of investing to produce abundance of whatever we possess.

GREATER THAN
It's quite a long silence. Not to worry. What's important is WE ARE BACK FOR GOOD. And we thank you for your patronising our blogsite again. We hope it will benefit you the more. In the meantime, our target is a daily post but sometimes all we may realise may be just a weekly post until we are fully restored. Please bear with us. Meet the publisher also at facebook.
One common expectation is that a newer generation should be greater than the older, a new car should be greater than the earlier models. Applying this principle to human development, one of the prayers of most parents is that their children should be greater than them.
However, a fact remains that no new generation will be greater than the old unless that generation strives hard to do so. Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God always prays for us his children that we shall be greater than him. And we all say a very loud 'Amen'. But the reality is that for anyone of us to aspire to be greater than him, we must exceed him in everything:in prayers, in hard work and we must develop a larger vision than his. We must also surpass him as a mult-skilled personality. Failure to attain these, will take us, not above but far below, the ever-busy great man. Yet every day he is setting a new standard!
In relaying this message to my children, I told them, that for them to be greater than me, they must follow the same principle of hard work, risk taking, prayerfulness and their visions must surpass mine. No doubt they must be as multi-skilled as their father is: a preacher, a teacher a writer, a public speaker, a lover of people and a man who is out to attain excellence both in his spiritual and secular activities!
To let them realise this goal, I have made it a point of duty to expose to them what I had done in the past, what I am doing now and what I intend doing in years to come. This is to enable them not only to key in but also to develop larger visions than mine. And everyday, I set new standards too! So they must all understand where I am at any point in time so that they will compare it with their present levels and try to fill the gap.
If you must be greater than the generation before you therefore, you must understudy the generation itself and set higher visions beyond theirs otherwise, you may find yourself only saying 'amen' to best wishes that will never manifest. God bless you.

Habits: Dishonesty - It all starts small
Habits: Dishonesty - It all starts small
Everything starts small. One step after the other, starting with Light, God created everything on planet earth and in six days too! Giants are not born giants. No. They started as babies and grew to become giants. Great men don't start great, they grow to become great! Even Kings and Queens start first as Princes and Princesses!
So it is with our habits. It all starts small. When children are born, they are born empty. Gradually, starting with their parents they begin to imbibe some habits - good or bad. As they grow in their neighbourhood, they pick up more from their larger families. As they venture outside their homes, they pick up further habits from the society: e.g. their friends, and such other organised bodies as worship centres.
And there are only two habits they can pick up - Good or bad habits! An armed robber, a rapist, or any criminal for that matter started his or her criminality small. For instance an armed robber would start with stealing petty things as little cash from their parents, meat in the soup, sweet on the counter, etc. Gradually, they become experts and they graduate to pocket-picking and other forms of pilfering and the wider their geographical horizon the more opportunities they have to perpetrate their nefarious acts. A rapist did not just start when he is an adult. He started when he was playing in the sands with his age mates - at a very tender age. And his lustful eyes continue to see his victims here and there. When he grows up, he becomes bolder and sometimes has to induce himself to be so he could accomplish his goals.
That is why the roles of parents in quickly exposing and correcting all bad traits discovered in their children are very crucial in parenting. When your child is given a gift and he or she does not let you know, he is on the path to dishonesty and may end up an armed robber, a fraudstar or name it. When your child hides his or her results from you he has started his acts of dishonesty. When your boy-children begin to run after girls at their tender ages, then you may be breeding future rapists. When your girl-children begin so early in life to ask you for indecent dresses or forms the habits shamelessly being half-naked or worse still understands all forms of lips painting, tattoos, so early in life, you may be breeding future prostitutes. Children, male or female who prefer to read or watch romantic books/films are heading towards stupidity, prostitution, child abusing and eventual failure in life. When your child leaves home for school and never gets there but gets back home at the right time he ought to after school, you may be breeding future cultists. The list is unending.
What then do we do? The best thing to do to discourage any bad habit is to nip it in the bud right from the very day it is noticed and pursue it until its traces can no longer be noticed. Secondly, the very opposite of the bad habit should become a training topic for whoever is affected. The victim should be taken through on all the trainings, counselling, praying, rebuking, etc necessary to free him from the bad habit.
Unless we want to lie, all of us have picked up one bad habit or the other at one point in our lives. But they were promptly corrected before we went too far. Therefore correct your children when they have not gone too far. Good morning.
