LEAVE A GOOD LEGACY

"We would rather die than not pursue this if there is any chance we would be free to live our own separate lives.  Death would be better than continuing to live like this!"  Laleh and Ladan

"Finally, just as we gained enough stability to beging hoping that Laleh's bleeding might be under control, she (ninety minutes after her twin sister, Ladan died,Laleh) arrested as well.   (Brackets mine please)  - Ben Carson in book "Take The Risk" pp 17 (para 3 and.31 (paras 2-8)

Whatever happens to us in life, good or bad, there's a positive lesson to learn therefrom to better our world now or the generations after us!  Don't die with such great lessons, document them as Ben Carson did!

To Have Good Judgment

Because of selfish interests, every human being in biased. Therefore to have good (unbiased) judgment on every issue before us, let's fear the Lord. It is not easy but it is possible if we are willing.

According to the Bible in Prov. 9 :10 "Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment." Let us imbibe wisdom and knowledge. Good morning.

Compromise in Marriage

Barak Obama loves politics like children love Ice Cream!
His wife Michelle hates it like a plague. Hear her: "I don't have the patience for it  but I know you will always want to do it".
And she played along!
Today Barak is President of America
Michelle is First Lady of America
Both of them from very humble beginnings
Husband and wife should always reach a compromise
So they can always win.

Good morning.

Heaven Bound?

Matt. 21
Parable of the Two Sons
28 “But what do you think about this? A man with two sons told the older boy, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’ 29 The son answered, ‘No, I won’t go,’ but later he changed his mind and went anyway. 30 Then the father told the other son, ‘You go,’ and he said, ‘Yes, sir, I will.’ But he didn’t go.31 “Which of the two obeyed his father?” They replied, “The first.”*
Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do.

Which of these children are you?

If you are married without your parents consent or you as a man are yet to pay dowry on your wife, you have violated God's rule on marriage. Indeed you have stolen your wife. You need to restitute. Good morning.

CARE FOR OUR PARENTS

Honoring our Parents
Matt.15 3-4

3 Jesus replied, “And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God? 4 For instance, God says, ‘Honor your father and mother,’* and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’* 5 But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ 6 In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents.* And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote,

Many so-called Christians today have capitalised on their 'christianity' not only to find faults with their parents and disrespect them, but they have gone as far as not providing the necessities of life for them. This negates Christ's teaching. Dear reader, if you are in such a position, please retrace your steps. Love your parents unconditionally and care for them. Good morning.

TAKING COUNSEL

Matthew 14:

6 But at a birthday party for Herod, Herodias’s daughter performed a dance that greatly pleased him, 7 so he promised with a vow to give her anything she wanted. 8 At her mother’s urging, the girl said, “I want the head of John the Baptist on a tray!” 9 Then the king regretted what he had said; but because of the vow he had made in front of his guests, he issued the necessary orders. 10 So John was beheaded in the prison, 11 and his head was brought on a tray and given to the girl, who took it to her mother. 12 Later, John’s disciples came for his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus what had happened"

No doubt no one succeeds without taking to good counsel. The Bible establishes that in a multitude of counsel is victory. However the kind of counsel we take matters. Herodia's mother's counsel to demand for John the Baptist's head is an evil counsel indeed. Many of us today are in the in the position of Herodia's daughter taking evil advise from our parents. Let us beware of the kind of counsel we take, no matter who is giving it to us. Good morning.

Created Rugged!

Created Rugged!

Nigerians are a unique people
Created rugged and resilient
Able to adapt to any condition
Whatever the vagaries in cost of living
They absorb the pains gamely
Taking everything in their strides
Their life is lived lackadaisically
With fans, air conditioners, switched on
While the windows are carelessly opened
Whether there’s electric power or not.
Nigerians will always survive!

The Policemen’s Dilemma

The Policemen’s

Dilemma

Of all the security agencies in Nigeria
The Police is the most traumatised
Rejected by the people they police
Rejected by their own Government
Rejected even by their own families
Their barracks are a weary environment
The most populated by,
Mostly unplanned children!
Insufficiency has been their lot
In an occupation –
the most risky of all jobs
Ye their enemies know them
While they know not all their enemies!
So their lives are subject
To abrupt termination at any time
Their remuneration
Is incommensurate and in arrears
To minimise  the imbalance
They resort to unbecoming practices
At unlikely places along the highways
Often unwillingly demeaning their consciences.
Frustration breeds bad conscience
When film makers seek to depict the poor professional in the society
The police or the Teacher
Is a ready illustration
Although the teachers
Are fighting for their rewards
Here upon the surface of the earth!)
Both professions
Deserve better deals

Though police, move so
To get the desired redressing
Not only from government
But the society too
Who treat them contemptuously
Urgently, police should improve themselves
With academic
And spiritual knowledge
Enough of poor recruits!
People-police harmony overdue
Police must stop inebriating
Must stop breeding like pigs
And invest in family and future
Knowing their hazardous career
They must look beyond career prospects
And gird themselves with God’s insurance
Such would restore their relevance
To self and their Creator
And stop their stigmatization
As poorly, ignorant and failures.
