NIGERIA'S FUTURE THREATENED?

For 3 months running, The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU); and the Federal Government of Nigeria have engaged in a face off that left  the country's leaders of tomorrow stranded.  Both the Government and ASUU being adamant on this important issue, no doubt, are insensitive to the plight of these young ones.   ASUU is wrong to apply and INDEFINITE strike ( an acknowledged impotent weapon) as a fighting tool.  It has never and is never likely to work in the present day Nigeria.

Everybody is calling for a truce.  Overburdend, students are gradually begining to react violently. They want the head of the Minister in charge of education! We can continue to pass the buck but the issue is not showing signs of being resolved!   The best way forward for now is for  ASUU to suspend the strike without delay for now employer of labour easily yields to negotiate under duress.  Government should remember that tomorrow's generation will ask questions about today. Therefore, they too should soft-pedal.  The social implications of this deadlock for now are serious, it is even worse for our tomorrow!  Readers, what do you say? Good morning.
