Disappointed in Christ?
20 John’s two disciples found Jesus and said to him, “John the Baptist sent us to ask, ‘Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?’ ” And tell him, ‘God blesses those who do not turn away because of me.*’”
The challenge before believers is that contrary their expectations, things are never rosy even in spite of their belief in Christ. This has disappointed many. John the Baptist got to this point and he had to ask questions. Many of us are asking such questions today. Jesus' answer did not even seem to help him. Why? Because it is a struggle with destiny. John has fulfilled his destiny by proclaiming Christ. It does not matter to God and Jesus really how he died! Jesus cried allowed "My God, My God why do you forsake me!". He was forsaken by God because be has to fulfil destiny.
Are you asking questions about what is happening to you now? Find out first whether you have fulfilled your purpose. It may not matter to God what's happening now to you, if it has to do with fulfilling your destiny. As for me I have accepted this Jesus whether he comes to my rescue or not. How about you? Good morning.
