Turn Your Weakness to Strength and Wealth!
My wife, Mary, is such a very shy person who would never like to place herself in public view. When cornered, and it becomes becomes necessary for her to speak, she speaks but her words are very few. I've been encouraging her to be outspoken because I know she's a bundle of talent. But she would ask me: "what's there to say?" I always responded: there are a lot to say and your contribution is necessary to the emancipation of your generation.
This argument went on for long. Finally she came out of her shelf and started teaching in our Sunday School. Initially she was 'bumpy' but gradually she picked up and became smooth sailing! She became more are more outspoken by the day and to my surprise highly articulate, convincing, straight to the point that everyone admired her. Inwardly, I rejoiced. I am experimenting with her on other areas. My objective is to turn her weakness to strength and thereafter I know God will surely add wealth to it for her.
If I can achieve this in my life time which I believe is possible, then I will die a happy man.
I did say I am hopeful I can achieve it. Yes. I mean it. I am drawing inspiration from Zaynab Alkali, the now celebrated author of "The Still Born". Quiet, easy going, cool, beautiful ... eh heeeh!!! Uumh!! Hear her how she became a celebrity
"...I started creative writing in 1980. But naturally, I was a very quiet person and I discovered that writing is another formidable way of communicating to people. So, I started putting thoughts on paper in 1980 when I was in the university. I never had the intention of getting published. I was only trying to express myself on paper since I am not so eloquent when it comes to talking. Now, it was by sheer accident that The Stillborn came to limelight, because at Bayero University, Kano, we had a gentleman who is now a professor, Steward Brown. ...
